Suva Activities, Events and Accommodation (Updated 6.9.11)

The following events are scheduled for Suva:

One-off Events:

  • Rent a home for short stays and use it as your base to explore the rest of Fiji. The home is a split level 3 bedroom residence with fencing and gate.   • Fiji Museum - Historical Fiji Photo Competition, send your best pics (has to be your own - 1 photo per person) of any site in Fiji (whether it is a sacred land site, building, anything you consider to be historical) and state in two or three sentences why you think it is to the Fiji Museum;
  • 2011 Fiji National University Open Day, Friday, 9 September 2011, Fiji National University's campuses in Suva (Samabula and Pasifika campuses), Ba, Nadi and Labasa; 
  • Annual Fiji Regatta, from Friday, 9 September to Thursday, 15 September 2011, Musket Cove Island Resort and Marina, Fiji;
  • Sulu and Jaba Competition to celebrate the unique attire of Fiji women - organised by the Fiji Fashion Week 2011- Register your entry by Friday, 9 September 2011;
  • 2011 Pacific Games, from Saturday, 27 August, to Saturday, 10 September 2011, Noumea, New Caledonia;

  • Fiji Outrigger Event - V6 Uprising Challenge, Saturday, 3 December 2011;
  • Volcom Fiji Pro, from 2012 to 2014 (Contest will mark Volcom’s first ASP World Title event and a much-desired return to the world-class breaks of Cloudbreak and Restaurants for the ASP Top 34);
Recurring Events:

  • Small boat cruises, daily, Nabukalou Creek, Suva; Harbour Cruises around Suva Harbour and to Nukulau Island;
  • Fiji Arts Council Art Gallery opens daily, including Saturdays, Procera House, opposite RB Patel, Waimanu Road, Suva;
  • Fiji Museum displays, daily at The Fiji Museum, Suva;
  • Oceania Centre Gallery, opens daily, at the Oceania Centre for Arts & Culture, University of the South Pacific, Laucala Bay, Suva;
