Flying Fijians Northern Hemisphere Tour

Fiji plays France on Sunday, 14 November 2010, starting at 6am, Fiji Time. Other matches are scheduled as follows :

Gamefishing Classic

The TOTAL Gamefishing Classic will be held on Saturday, 13 November, and Sunday, 14 November 2010. Boats will depart the Royal Suva Yacht Club and return there for weigh-in at 4pm on each day. Around 35 anglers are participating.

2010 ANZ Art Awards and Exhibition

The Fiji Arts Club and ANZ Bank are holding the annual ANZ Art Awards and Exhibition in November 2010. Specific activities/events to be held are as follows :
  • Sunday, 14 November, submission of original artwork;
  • Wednesday, 17 November, 6pm, Preview and Awards Night (Tickets are F$15.00 per person and can be bought at Caines Janif and Guava Cafe);
  • Thursday, 18 November, to Saturday, 27 November, Exhibition of submissions (Free admission).

National Conference - Education in Fiji

A National Conference on "Education in Fiji - Achievements, Issues and Challenges will be held from Monday, 22 November, to Wednesday, 24 November 2010, at the Fiji National University's Lautoka Campus. It will examine historical, philosophical and theoretical contributions in the development of the education system in Fiji. The conference will have 6 keynote addresses, 90 individual presentations, poster presentations and exhibitions. There will also be 2 panel discussions on "Technical and Vocational Education and Training Challenges in Fiji" and on "Future Directions in Education in Fiji". Mat Weaving Workshop

The Fiji Museum is organising a Mat Weaving Workshop for 3 Saturdays including 13th, 20th and 27th November, 2010, from 9am to 1pm on each Saturday, at the Fiji Museum Verandah, Suva. The Aid Program of the Australian Government is holding a Public Lecture and Panel Discussion for the launch of the Pacific OPIC (Childhood Obesity) Project on Friday, 12 November 2010, starting at 2pm at the Fiji School of Medicine Pasifika Auditorium, Extension Street, Suva.   • An overview of OPIC;
  • Schools and community findings;
  • Socio-cultural;

Savusavu Outrigger Regatta

An Outrigger Regatta will be held from Friday, 5 November, to Sunday, 7 November 2010, at Savusavu, Fiji. The Regatta is sponsored by Consort Shipping Limited. Events include :
  • race by Rabi Islanders using traditional canoes;
  • 500m sprints with modern V6 paddling canoes;
  • 30 km race for me;
  • 25 km race for women;
  • paddling course taking about 3 hours.

Clubs participating include Takia, Kaiwai, Tafaga, USP islanders, Nadi Bay, Nakama Bay. The Uto Ni Yalo will also be at Savusavu.
