  • 2010 Bra Art Competition organised by the Fiji Cancer Society - Interested persons are requested to make or decorate a bra. Mini-fashion Show this evening

The MHCC Fiji Fashion Week Team will be down at MHCC today, Thursday 19 August 2010, from 6pm onwards hosting another mini-fashion show. Go and have a sneak preview of local models that will be participating at this year's Fiji Fashion Show scheduled for 18 to 23 October 2010.

1st Hibiscus Cycling Fiji Race

The first Hibiscus Cycling Fiji Race will be held on Saturday, 28 August 2010, from 12pm to 1pm, starting from Suva Market and end at Albert Park, Suva. The event will precede the annual float procession at the 2010 Fiji Hibiscus Festival. Registration begins at 12pm. Lots of prizes, mobile phones, digital picture frames and more, to be won.

2010 Digicel Cup Final

Naitasiri and Nadroga will play for the 2010 Digicel Rugby Cup Final on Saturday, 21 August 2010, starting 3pm at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori. Nausori is close to Suva.

2010 Fiji Secondary Schools Dean Rugby Trophy Finals

Ratu Kadavulevu School and Lelean Memorial School will play for the Under 19 Fiji Secondary Schools Deans Trophy Finals this Saturday, 21 August 2010, at Churchill Park, Lautoka.

2010 National Junior Chess Championships

The 2010 National Junior Chess Championships sponsored by Flour Mill of Fiji will be held on Sunday, 22 August 2010, at the Pasifika Campus, Suva. Competition will be in several age categories including U20, U18, U16, U14 and U12. There will also be prizes for best secondary/primary schools student. The winner of the National Junior Championships will take part in the Nationals in November.

Fiji's Biggest Morning Tea

Fiji's Biggest Morning Tea returns to Fiji on Thursday, 26 August 2010. The initiative is one where organisations arrange morning teas at their own offices where staff and friends are invited to enjoy and at the same time donate some money towards the Fiji Cancer Society. It is now an annual event on Fiji's social calendar.

2010 Tadra Kahani

The 2010 Tadra Kahani returns to Suva on 18 and 19 August 2010. The primary schools competition will be held on Wednesday, 18 August, while the secondary schools competition will be on Thursday, 19 August. Twenty four schools are participating in this annual creative arts, dance and music show. The theme for 2010 is "Dream Story Stage Show". Events will be held at the Vodafone Arena, Laucala Bay, Suva.

Mr Suva Bodybuilding Competition

The Mr Suva Bodybuilding Competition will be held on Friday, 20 August 2010, at Albert Park as part of the opening night of the 2010 Fiji Hibiscus Festival. Weigh-in will be held on Thursday, 19 August 2010, from 1pm to 5pm at the Charman's Club, Suva. Top competitors expected to participate include Inoke Ligairi who won the Mr Buksh Bodybuilding Competition two months ago, and the current Mr Suva, Emosi Baleinuku.

2010 Fiji Fashion Week - Modelling Workshop

The 2010 Fiji Fashion Week organisers will be holding a Modelling Workshop on Saturday, 21 August, and Sunday, 22 August 2010, from 8am to 3pm on each day. The Workshop will be facilitated by Nikola Koke, Model Mentor for Australia's Next Top Model who is also an International Casting Director and Model Scout. Topics to be covered include :
  • the art of being a professional model;
  • life stories direct from the European catwalks;
  • attitude;
  • facial features;
  • developing strong and weak points;
  • self esteem;
  • physical features;
  • how to utilise and command focus on your best features;
  • posture and alignment techniques;

USP's Inaugural 3-minute Thesis Competition 2010

The University of the South Pacific is holding the Inaugural 3-minute Thesis Competition on Friday, 20 August 2010, from 5pm to 8pm at the Marine Studies Lecture Theatre, Laucala Bay, Suva. This even will see about 20 postgraduate research students present a compelling oration of their original research in 3 minutes using a single slide and is sponsored jointly by the European Union, the USP and its Book Centre. The event is open to the public.

The 2010 Battle of the Giants matches to be played in Suva will be held on Sunday, 15 August 2010, starting 12pm, at the tfl National Stadium, Laucala Bay, Suva. The matches will be as follows :

2010 Fiji Hibiscus Fun Run

The 2010 Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus Fun Run will be held on Saturday, 14 August 2010, starting 7am at Albert Park, Suva. Registration starts at 6am on the day. Oceania FUTSAL Championship

The Oceania FUTSAL Championship will be held from Sunday, 8 August, to Saturday, 14 August 2010, at the Vodafone Arena, Laucala Bay, Suva. Teams from Fiji, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tuvalu and Vanuatu will take part in the Championship. Live coverage will be aired on Mai TV.

The 2010 Fiji Secondary Schools Deans Rugby Trophy Semi Finals will be held on Saturday, 7 August 2010, at the tfl National Stadium, Laucala Bay, Suva. Into the premier Under 19 semi finals are Lelean Memorial School, Ratu Kadavulevu School, Nasinu Secondary School and Ratu Navula Secondary School.

Fiji Fashion Week - Kids Model Search

The 2010 Fiji Fashion Week organisers are holding a model audition for kids on Saturday, 7 August 2010, from 9am, at the FNU Campus, Carpenter Street, Raiwai, Suva. 2010 Bra Art Competition

The 2010 Bra Art Competition is now on. The Competition is organised by the Fiji Cancer Society. Interested persons are requested to make or decorate a bra. Entries close on 22 September with judging to be held on Friday, 1 October with the exhibition of entries to be done during the month of October which is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
