Some events scheduled for the Suva International Sevens
Taken from Suva Rugby Union website. The Suva Rugby Festival was launched by the Suva Rugby Union in July 2009 as part of the build-up to its centenary celebrations in 2012. Suva will host international sevens teams from Tonga, Samoa, Papua New Guinea, and Manawatu and many more teams. Winners of the Suva sevens series will also have the rare chance to play against their international counterparts, giving fans the opportunity to watch some exciting rugby. In addition to the International Sevens teams attending the event, there will be over 200 teams playing across 10 categories of rugby including primary and secondary schools, rugby 10’s, Golden Oldies, ladies and Indo-Fijian rugby. The festival is set to rival some of Fiji’s biggest festivals with daily entertainment at Suva's Albert Park, including the Suva Captain’s Charity dinner, a Choir competition and a parade through Suva to welcome the international teams.
