Earth Hour

The WWF's Earth Hour will be held on Saturday, 28 March 2009, between 8.30pm to 9.30pm. Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. This is an initiative organised by WWF where switching off your lights is a vote for Earth and leaving them on is a vote for global warming. Fiji residents are encouraged to switch off their lights during that time to commemorate Earth Hour. For more information, pls visit www.earthhour.org.
