Suva Landmark being demolished

The Raiwai and Raiwaqa four storey flats, a landmark of Suva, are being demolished to make way for apartments. The flats which provided low cost housing for low income earning families have been stripped and will be brought down over the next few weeks. The landmark have been part of Suva's landscape for around 40 years and were known a while back for its notorious youth groups. The area has also bred people who have moved on to successful careers in various fields. The flats are being managed by the Public Rental Board.
