Fiji's preparations for 18th Hobie 16 World Championship

The Fiji Hobie Cat team hopes to do well at the 18th Hobie 16 World Championship which gets underway next week. More than 1,500 competitors from 28 countries will converge at the National Sailing Centre, Suva Point, for the event. The captain of the Fiji team, Grahame Southwick, said that they were hoping for a good outing. A Hobie Cat is one of several small catamarans. They offer high speeds at a relatively low cost. They can reach speeds over 17 knots (i.e. 20 miles per hour). Note : For accommodation in a two bedroom home in Suva, pls check out links at the right hand side of this blog. The home looks out to sea and Nukulau Island. To contact us, pls e-mail gilbertv2@connect.com.fj.
