Course - Knowing and Being in Oceania : Pacific Epistemology
A course, Knowing and Being in Oceania : Pacific Epistemology, is being organised by the University of the South Pacific, Laucala Bay, Suva during Semester 2, 2007. The course examines how knowledge is constructed within the context of Pacific societies and looks at several themes to help bridge the gap between Western-based views of understanding the world and how Pacific Islanders interpret their natural surroundings and social relationships.
