Surving Global and Local Tourism Growth : USP Seminar

A seminar organised jointly by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality of the University of the South Pacific and the European Union is scheduled as follows :
  • Topic : Surviving Global and Local Tourism Growth with a Shrinking and Changing Workforce;
  • Presenter : Mr Anthony Brien - a seasoned hotel industry practitioner and manager of university hotel degree programs;
  • Date : Thursday, 8 February 2007;
  • Time : 6.30pm to 8.30pm;
  • Venue : Room S024 in the FBE Building, Ground Floor, USP.

The public lecture will review one of the industry's key strategic business partners - your workforce, and discusses the international challenge of recruiting and retaining the best staff. The presentation challenges the industry to 'think' about business success and sustainability pragmatically, in what could be termed as 'cooperatively working with, and competing for, their workforce partners'.

Mr Brien was a past Board Member and Director of the London based Hotel and Catering International Management Association and in his role of Academic Management and Senior Lectureships in hotel/hospitality degree programs at Auckland University of Technology, Oxford Brookes University (UK) and presently Lincoln University (NZ), he brings global thinking and information to the industry.
