The Queen arrives in Suva
Cruise liner, Queen Elizabeth II, arrived in Suva yesterday beginning a series of visits by cruise liners to the capital city over the next few days. There to welcome the liner with her tourists and to highlight the importance of the arrival during these times was the Interim Prime Minister and his entourage. Tourists then went sightseeing and shopping in the city. One tourist, Andrew Robertson, who was in the country for the first time said that Suva was safe for tourists despite the political situation. Mr Robertson said that overseas media reports painted Fiji as a dangerous place when it is not so. Other cruise liners expected this week are MV Astor, which arrives today, 9 February 2007, The MV Oriana arrives on Saturday, 10 February 2007, and the Amsterdam which arrives on Monday, 12 February 2007.
