FMF Dome may change name
The FMF Dome may have a change of name soon if what is reported on Fiji TV today holds true. The FMF company is having some differences with the Fiji Sports Council for payment of naming rights to have the company name affixed to the Dome. Companies have to pay a certain annual fee to the Sports Council for such a privilege. The Fiji TV report mentioned that FMF has not paid the allotted fee since late 2006. The Dome is the largest in-door sporting complex in the South Pacific and was opened for the 2003 South Pacific Games held in Suva. FMF is majority owned by Hari Punja and family and is also traded on the South Pacific Stock Exchange in Suva.
