Smiles of Fiji

If there is one thing that Fiji is famous for, it's the beautiful smiles of its people. The annual photo contest organised by the Alliance Francaise of Suva has ended with the winners announced. "The contest was organised because we thought it would be good to show an open, pleasant and opportunistic view of Fiji", said Eric Galmard of the Alliance Francaise. Mr Galmard said the photo contest has been held for the past four years and was a way for the communities of Fiji coming together. Training workshops were held to help people who did not have much experience in photography. Mr Galmard said that the quantity and quality of photos have improved from last year. Winners in the Amateur Category were :
  • Nicole McClenanahan's Bula Rain, 1st place;
  • Samu Savou's Bubbly Smile, 2nd place;
  • Mark Tedeschi's Togetherness, 3rd place.

In the Professional Category, the winners were :

  • Garret Garm's Fun in the Sand, 1st place;
  • Bill Campbell's Love is in the Air, 2nd place;
  • Isoa Tokalauvere's Exquisite, 3rd place.

Yes, Wendy. Whatever happens, happens. Things happen only if God wills it. We, Suva residents, have learnt to rise above things that happen here and move on with life.
