City to rise up outside capital

Nineteen hundred acres of freehold land at Wainadoi, outside Suva, is set to have an airfield, commercial and residential subdivisions and medical and sports facilities, as part of a major development plan. The plan is to build an integrated community, 20 minutes away from Suva. Apart from the residential subdivisions, the community's master plan included an airfield, a medical centre, sports facilities, a market place and commercial and industrial subdivisions. Mountainview residential subdivision, the first phase of the development, would include underground power supply, tar sealed roads, telephone and water services. Water will be supplied with the construction of two reservoirs on site. Residential lots, ranging from 1 acre to just under 2 acres will be selling at F$55,000 to F$70,000 per lot, depending on size. These are already on the market.
