Harbour clean up to start this month
The removal of 11 derelict vessels from Suva Harbour is to start before the end of the month. The exercise is expected to cost the Fiji Ports Corporation close to F$220,000.00. Vessel owners are expected to foot the cost of removal of their own vessels. The removal will help clear up the harbour of these vessels and also protect the marine environment from leakage of toxic chemicals and materials from the rusting vessels.
