Freshwater Prawn Aquaculture Training

You can learn about Freshwater Prawn Aquaculture by signing up for a training program organised by the Institute of Marine Resources at the University of the South Pacific.
  • Date : 2 to 4 August, 2006
  • Venue : Lower Laucala Campus, University of the South Pacific, Laucala Bay, Suva;
  • Topics : Introduction to Aquaculture, Prawn Status & Biology, Hatchery Operations, Pond Construction, Pond Management Economic Modelling;
  • Fee : F$500.00 per person. This includes training materials, field trip, teas and lunches.

Limited places available.

A consultancy service is available as a follow up to those interested. This includes : farm site visit, feasibility study, and farm design. Post-larval prawns can be purchased from the University of the South Pacific.
