Film Awards exhibition a hit

The first day of the inaugural local film awards exhibition yesterday was a success and its final day is expected to fare even better. The Fiji Audio Visual Commission said people turned up in numbers to witness the opening of the Telecom Fiji sponsored Kula Awards and Audio Visual Open Day at the Fiji Development Bank foreshore in Suva yesterday. The idea of the exhibition is to showcase the industry to members of the public and show them that it would be an industry for the future. A major feature of today's program is the awards for short films produced by 11 secondary schools. About 14 schools will be contesting for the Bollywood Dance routines awards. Students were yesterday at the Suva FDB foreshore venue doing last minute rehearsals. The open day is free of charge.
