F$200,000 for city festival

The 2006 Vodafone Hibiscus Festival will cost about F$200,000 to get off the ground. The Organising Committee said preparations for the even were being organised as far back as January. There will be close to 200 stalls at Albert Park. Apart from good and clothing stalls, there will be public awareness stalls by the Red Cross, St John's and Land Transport Authority. The event will also have Bollywood and local shows and sports competitions. A special fire walking ceremony has been organised for the end of the event. The festival will be a nine-day event starting from August 17 with a torch relay. Miss Hibiscus flies to Los Angeles as part of her prizes.
